Positions to begin in October and go until a few days before Christmas.

Part time and Full time available. Both must have dependable transportation and be timely with their schedules.

We are a Non Smoking facility.

 

Typical cashier duties include keeping the store orderly & clean, inventory & pricing product, stocking/maintaining adequate product on the shelves and working with pecan cracking customers to weigh in their pecans and retrieve finished orders.

Must have the ability to answer the phone and answer customer questions and/or to direct calls to the appropriate party/supervisor.

 

Cashiers must be friendly and informative to the customers as well as presentable in the retail environment and on the phone.

Proficiency with a cash register and a credit card machine a must.

Able to take direction and follow guidelines required for the efficient operation of the retail store. Other duties as needed.

Cashier hours can be flexible depending on schedule. Available times would fall between our opening hours of 8:00 to 6:00 M-F, Sat 9:00 to 5:00 & Sunday 10:00 to 5:00.

Typical packaging duties include placing labels on bags and/or buckets, placing product in the containers and sealing the container according to the type of product/container. Training will be provided.

Manual dexterity is a must as well as the ability/willingness to perform the tasks needed in an efficient and effective way. Must be neat & clean and keep their work area that way. Other duties as needed.

Packaging typically runs 8:00am to 4:30pm, but sometimes may go longer as needed/desired.

Phone/Shipping Clerk

Must be MS Excel proficient and UPS/USPS shipping or the ability to learn. Must have good phone skills and patience dealing with phone-in customers.

 

Able to take direction and follow guidelines required for the efficient operation of the shipping department.

Able to lift 50 lbs and be able to prepare and box orders for shipment.

Hours are a little flexible… Mon-Fri: 8:00 to 4:30 or 9:00 to 5:30. Some days may require staying a little longer depending on shipping demand.

Seeking a long term Baker/Kitchen Manager to administer to the day to day baking in a specialty nut confection store & bakery.

The business has a busy holiday season but a more measured off season.

During holiday season there are other team members that they would need to supervise and it would be a full time position with over-time availability as needed. Hours: 8:00 to 4:30 (later as needed).

During the off season this candidate would effectively be the only one in the kitchen with occasional help from retail staff. Off season (summer schedule) daily hours may be marginally reduced unless the baker was available and willing to assist in other departments.

Duties would include making cookies, bread and pie dough, etc... Making various chocolate confections as well as other candy confections. And making various nut mixes and other items that are produced in the kitchen.

It would be mandatory to keep the kitchen and equipment in a particularly clean and orderly condition. Oversee other kitchen help and ensure they follow various protocols required in a food making area as well as ensure that they are productive and creating exceptional product.

Creating and updating daily logs of what was produced as well as logs required of the various equipment used. Also able to do inventories and creating orders for raw materials needed.

Ability to be friendly and informative to the customers as well as presentable in the kitchen environment.

Ability to work with employees and their individual personality and job issues in a thoughtful, compassionate, yet responsible & efficient manner.

Be a motivated self starter with good baking/kitchen skills and cleaning desire. Knowledge and/or ability to learn quickly the various techniques for baking or making confections/candies. Able to organize projects according to their schedule and urgency. Be a multi tasker, speak clearly and able to delegate. Ability to lift 50 - 70 lbs (cases of product, flour sacks, etc...) is essential. Other duties as required.

Pay commensurate with experience and ability. Bonus opportunities may be available.

Kitchen Manager/Baker

Seeking a long term Assistant Manager to administer to the day to day business of a specialty nut confection store & bakery. The business has a busy holiday season but a more measured off season. During holiday season there is a pecan processing department that begins its production work that will require some oversight.

Duties would include:

Helping to create and maintain job duties of the various employees, including scheduling the employees.

Working with the general public as well as corporate customers to satisfy their current needs as well as to make them aware of the many custom & specialty things we do. Helping to retain and establish an expanding retail, wholesale and corporate customer base.

Typical retail duties would include ensuring the store is kept orderly & clean, merchandising of products, sales promotions, media & marketing input, inventory controls & ordering as well as overseeing the receiving of shipment & orders. Create & review "End of Day", Sales, Inventory Reports, etc...

Placing & overseeing a shipping department, mainly engaged in shipping orders to the retail public.

 

Ability to be friendly and informative to the customers as well as presentable in the retail environment and on the phone.

Ability to work with employees and their individual personality and job issues in a thoughtful, compassionate, yet responsible & efficient manner.

Proficient with the MS Office suite of programs, especially Excel, as well as general use of computers, cash registers and credit card machines as well as UPS and USPS shipping programs.
